Welcome to the Farm

Empire Hills Farm, LLC was established when Michele Morris and her mom found this beautiful spot in the rolling hills of southern Leelanau County back in 2010, and decided to make a home here for herself and her merry band of animals. Their goal was to create a lovely farm that could be a community fixture, a place for animals to thrive, a place to grow and share the bounty.

While her mom didn't get to see the progress Michele has made, the farm is a testament to what the two women envisioned. It is now home to horses, goats, chickens, ducks, quail, a donkey and a mule and Big Papa, the turkey.

The recent acquisition of mini horses have led the way to create the first program for local kids to be involved in horses, through the farm's Empire Pony Pal program. This program focuses on teaching kids, in a non-riding capacity, about the proper care and handling of horses, understanding their behavior and how to work with them. This will hopefully lead to a future performance troupe with the kids and the horses!

The farm also hosts annual barn sales and looks forward to adding other community events to the schedule.
